Although I was raised in church, I didn’t make a personal decision to follow Christ until I was sixteen. Encouraged by my high school sweetheart, Jane, I attended a Baptist tent revival and walked a sawdust-covered aisle to pray a simple prayer of repentance. That moment marked the beginning of a lifelong spiritual journey. Not long after, God confirmed my calling to full-time ministry.
A few years later, Jane and I were married. We left our hometown of Thomasville, Georgia, and moved to Lakeland, Florida, to attend Southeastern University (then Southeastern Bible College). During my college years, I spent many Saturday nights ministering on the streets of Ybor City in Tampa through a program called Teen Challenge—an experience that deeply shaped my heart for outreach and pastoral care.
Over the years, Jane and I have faithfully served nine churches across Florida, Alabama, and Georgia. Along the way, I earned several academic degrees:
Additionally, I am an ordained elder in the Free Methodist Church, USA.
Now, nearly 59 years into marriage, Jane and I remain passionate about life, faith, and family. We’re grateful parents to three grown children: Ashley, Marsha and David, and proud grandparents to eight wonderful grandchildren. I still enjoy reading, running (though I walk a bit more these days), and marksmanship. Jane has a deep love for antiques and local history—especially anything connected to our beloved Thomasville.
